Choosing gold bangles, and sizes
Gold bangles come in a few families. Plain bangles are smooth or lightly cut and are the easiest to wear every day. Patterned bangles have engraving, filigree or beadwork. Kadas are wider and heavier bands, sometimes carved in an antique finish or set with kundan stones. People often wear a few slim bangles together with one wider piece, so ask to see them stacked.
How to measure for bangles
Bangles have to pass over the widest part of your hand and still sit snugly at the wrist, so the size is set by the hand, not the wrist.
- Take a bangle you already wear comfortably and measure straight across the inside, edge to edge, in inches or millimetres.
- Or bring your thumb in against your palm, squeeze the hand as narrow as it will go, and measure across the widest point, knuckles to the base of the thumb.
- Adult sizes are usually somewhere between 2.2 and 2.8 inches across the inside (about 56 to 71 mm). We will check the exact size with you in the shop.
A bangle that is too tight is hard to put on, and one that is too loose slides and gets scratched. When in doubt, try two neighbouring sizes.
Daily wear or occasion
For daily wear, pick slim, smooth or lightly patterned bangles, since deep carving and stones collect dust and snag. For weddings and festivals, wider kadas and antique designs make a bigger statement.

Questions people ask
How do I find my bangle size?
Measure across the inside of a bangle that fits you well, from inner edge to inner edge. Or fold your thumb in and measure across the widest part of your hand with a tape. We will check the size with you at the counter, so a rough measure is enough to begin.
What is the difference between a bangle and a kada?
A bangle is usually a closed ring or a pair that slides over the hand. A kada is a thicker, heavier band, often open with a screw or hinge, and it is worn singly or as a pair. Ask us to show you both side by side.
Is the gold hallmarked?
Our gold jewellery is BIS hallmarked. A hallmarked piece carries the BIS mark and a 6-character HUID code, and you can ask us to show you both.
Can I get bangles made in my size or design?
Yes. Send a photo or bring a sample. Custom orders usually take 3 to 15 days depending on the design; allow more time around festivals.
What will I pay?
We do not list prices on the website. Gold is priced by weight at the day's rate, plus making charge and GST, and we will give you the full break-up at the counter or on WhatsApp.
